At Jurajskie Manowce we run a small asylum for red-eared sliders and yellow-bellied sliders — species classified as invasive in Poland.
By law, keeping and breeding these turtles is prohibited, and releasing them into natural environments is strictly forbidden.
Individuals that already exist may stay only in controlled, safe conditions such as our sanctuary.
During summer, some of the invasive turtles are moved to a specially prepared and secured outdoor pond, where they can live in conditions similar to natural ones, but fully controlled.
Note for guests: turtles can be observed from designated areas, but must not be touched or fed. This is for the safety of both the animals and visitors.
Our mission is to provide proper care and to educate visitors — explaining why invasive species must never be released into nature and how to handle exotic animals responsibly.
